Let me tell you a little bit about myself! I am originally
from Denver, Colorado. I have twin brothers that are seniors in high school and
my parents are still together. The rest of my family lives in Texas, so before
I came to SU, we visited Texas
constantly. I am a senior psychology major here at SU and a biology minor. Last spring semester, I studied abroad in
London for a little under six months. It was the best experience of my life.
London is my favorite place on the planet and I was also able to visit places
throughout England, Scotland, Paris, Prague, Salzburg, Munich, Brussels, Wales,
Venice, Florence, Rome, Dublin, and Belfast throughout the semester. I met some amazing people there and learned so
much about myself in the process. I can’t wait to go back to London one day!
Most of my summer consisted of me readjusting to American time. It took me at
least a month to stop waking up at 5 am every day! While I was in London, I wrote a blog called Adventures in London (clearly my favorite blog). :-)
For the future, I am interested in
going into the medical field. Right now, the plan is to do EMT training this
summer and work as an EMT for a year or two while I finish getting the
prerequisites for PA school. So hopefully in a few years’ time, I’ll be on my
way to becoming a Physician’s Assistant!
I am a
volleyball player here at SU. We’ve made it to the NCAA tournament every year
that I’ve been here and the team is looking better than ever this year! Our
goal is to win the conference championship (you get one of those giant heavy
rings!). In addition to volleyball, I am secretary of the Christian sorority,
Sigma Phi Lambda. I am also involved in Psi Chi and ODK. Especially during the
fall, my life is pretty consumed with volleyball, but I don’t know what I’m
going to do without it when I graduate!
Enough
about me! I’m excited for this class and I can’t wait to get to know everyone
else!
